The new Spring 2009 Interweave Crochet just arrived and its got some really nice projects, and only $7.99!
I love the Still Waters Shrug ! It is great for all seasons, even winter, but especially Spring and Summer. When I get a chance I'm going to make this one for sure. I really like shrugs because they are the perfect little cover up with dresses and skirts, they are a fast little project and relatively simply shaped, so I don't have to pay too much attention.
This is a super Recessionista Project! I really like lacy cravats and scarves like Emerald Scarf because they are an easy, fancy accessory that instantly makes an outfit interesting and pretty. The last ready-to-wear one I saw that was made from an so-so fibre was more than $100, but if you used the exact yardage in Misti Alpaca Laceweight it would only cost $34 (although i don't expect that the project would actually use more than 1000m, which would bring it to $25.50).
A great looking wide brimmed hat is a VERY good thing! Especially an Audrey crocheted hat because you can squish it and travel with it without wrecking it. If you want the brim to have more structure you can get hat wire from a sewing store and feed it though the brim. To i would crochet a flap at the edge and turn it down and sew it in place to make a 'pocket' to house the wire so you can't see it, or alternately just crochet it to the edge with a slip stitch.)
