New Interweave Knits Weekend

Knits Weekend 2009
New Interweave Knits Weekend Magazine

This special issue from Interweave Knits looks like a keeper! I expect I'll have to re-order soon, but you should make sure you get a copy because the print run is sure to run out and once it's gone. (Interweave will likely eventually publish the patterns on their website for you to purchase but they cost $5 (US) each, making magazines a really great deal in the long term.)

By the way, keep your eyes peeled for a series of 8 freebies on knittingdaily.com starting Sept 18!  Also remember, Interweave's free patterns are not always offered forever and some are only free for a limited time, so be sure to download the free patterns you like and ferret them away somewhere safe, like on a USB Flash Stick.

Tulpis Baby Kit

This is a simple cardigan knit in the round from the top-down. The yarn is 100% merino wool and machine washable. The pattern is easy to follow and a quick, satisfying baby knit! There should be enough yarn in the kit to make the first 3 sizes (6-9mo, 12-18mo, 2 yrs). The colour sequence for this kit is different than the pattern but that is the only change. $57.

Kit Includes
• 3 x 115m of Dream in Color 'Classy'
• 1 x 227m of Dream in Color 'Classy'
• Dream in Color Tulips Baby Cardigan Pattern
• Eucalan or Soak packet
• Garment Label
• Zippered Kit Bag

Kit Does NOT Include
• 4.5mm-29” circular needles
• 4.5mm double pointed needles
• 3.75mm-29” circular needles
• 3.75mm double pointed needles
• 4 stitch markers
• tapestry needle
• scrap yarn
• measuring tape
• scissors

Berroco Sox Metallic

Berroco Sox Metallic!  In addition to the fun fleck of disco it's a really nice superwash wool, self patterning sock yarn with enough nylon content to help them stand up to wear.  So your inner magpie likes the yarn but aren't into socks right now? No problem, here are a few project suggestions:
