FREE PATTERN: Striped Merino scarf in the key of 'pi'

Materials

• 4.5mm needles

• 5 balls Filatura di Crosa ZARA PLUS 50g/70m, 100% merino wool in 5 colours:

Colourway 1: Modern Guy

A orange 17

B dk. Brown 14

C leaf green 18

D camel 12

E olive green 19


Colourway 2: Modern Girl

A turquoise 21

B pink 22

C red 25

D olive green 19

E orange 17

Stitch Pattern

K2, P2 rib (multiple of 2 sts)

All rows: *K2, P2; rep from * to end.

Directions

• Cast on 24 sts.

• work in stitch pattern, following stripe & colour sequence until all the yarn is used up

• Cast off.

Finishing

Fasten off & weave in ends.


• Stripe Sequence: use the numbers generated by π (pi) (ignore numbers 0, 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, ignore repeating numbers) rows to a colour. Ex. 3, 4, 5, 2, 3, 5, 3, 2, 3, 4, 2, 4, 3, 2, 5, 2, 4 …. Etc.

• Colour Sequence: A, B, C, D, E

For example:

5 rows A
