Yarn Swap Rescheduled, G20 Plans
Our plans for the G20 summit are business as almost usual! We are far enough North of the mess that we don't expect much disruption. However, we are going to RESCHDULE the Yarn Swap for next weekend: the security presence in the city is getting a little hectic and we don't want anybody getting hurt or detained just for some second hand yarn!
Getting Here
In general, they are advising that if you are driving you should go a little out of your way to avoid traffic disruptions. If you are driving from the South you may want to take Christie St, it is a route that is normally forgotten. Davenport Rd. is usually also good. You can keep up to date on current TTC delays via the TTC Udates Twitter feed.
If you are taking the TTC you may wish to avoid the North-South subway lines as much as possible and plan an above-ground route (The Bathurst St. bus leaves from Bathurst Station, which is located on the East-West line). See a Map.
Hours
Thursday 11am to 8pm (Stitch 'n Bitch 5pm to close)
Friday 11am to 6pm
Saturday 11am to 6pm (Stitch 'n Bitch 1 to 5 pm)

G20 Yarn Swap?
We've been advised that our next Yarn Swap is scheduled for the weekend of the G20 summit. We are located north of Davenport, on Bathurst, so not in the 'security zone'. They say that the Yonge-University subway line will not be stopping at the south-most stations, so I suspect that that line will be a bit slower. You can take the Bloor-Danforth line to Bathurst station and the bus north to Nina street. There will be some road closures during the G20, but not near our neighborhood, and if you stay north of Bloor St you should be fine.
But what do you think? Would you like us to re-schedule the June swap? We are flexible, so let us know!
P.S.
I just sent off a HUGE bag to the seniors at the Silver Circle, thanks for the donations! This month I'd like to give the leftovers to the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture, they are a United Way funded charitable organization and are starting a knitting group - they are learning how to make socks!
